African Society Event

Celebration of Gabon 2017

The African Society ran a fun event in the common room last week. It consisted of them streaming the African Cup of Nations semis between Cameroon & Ghana. They gave everyone a little taste of Africa by supplying some dishes such as Jollof Frice, Plantain, Chin Chin, Plantain Chips.

To keep everyone involved they hosted a ping-pong tournament and surprise surprise Hamad won the tournament. Zeeshan gave him a good game but unfortunately he was runner up.

That was not enough fun and entertainment for the African Society, Mario Kart then made an appearance. Who doesn’t love Mario Kart? People could say this competition was a slight fix as the leader of the African Society (John) came first, but once he heard a DBS hoody was up for grabs his competitive side really showed. He was not losing his opportunity to win a DBS hoody. James tried his best to win but sadly it was not enough, he had to settle for 2nd place. Tayo landed himself 3rd pace by knocking Jess out. The 2nd and 3rd place were both awarded with sweets.
