Our 'Re-Freshers Week' is here and is the biggest week of the spring academic calendar. What is this week all about you say? Well, re-freshers week is the extended welcome back to college life and is a busy period for everyone across the college. The Student Experience Team and your Students' Union are here to make sure that this important week is filled with social events, networking evenings and of course, plenty of fun competitions to win prizes! The real spirit of re-freshers week is to give you guys the chance to make new friends and settle into your new surroundings before the assignments roll in. So make a note to join an event or two and have some fun before hitting the books.

Student Workshop: Positive Steps to Well-Being: Emotional Regulation (3:30-5pm)

This workshop is an exclusive learning session that is available to the students of DBS. Throughout this session students will get the opportunity to explore how to deal with Anxiety, Stress and Frustration within the context of their personal, educational or work-related roles.

Introduction to Adulting - SU SWAP Night

This week the SWAP team are covering the important topic of adulting! This super fun workshop will consist of little knowledge and a lot of nonsense. The guys will cover adulting in a fun and interactive way, with mystery challenges and plenty of networking as per usual. Tuesday:

Energy Boosting Morning Workout with Coach John Sullivan / Live from 8am
Our Keep Fit Programme returns for semester 2 to help you beat the fatigue of lockdown! Join our keep fit community every Tues & Thurs morning at 8am, for a 45 minute power blast to kick-start a day of productivity. All students and staff are welcome to join in. Click here to be part of our keep fit community or join the Virtual Common Room directly on the morning.




Clubs & Societies: Virtual Sign Up Day (11am-1pm) - All students welcome!
If you want to get involved with the Clubs & Societies Programme at DBS then this is your big chance!  During our Virtual Sign-Up Day you can meet our Club & Society Leaders and find out what they are up to. You can even start up a Club or Society of your own. Join the Virtual Common Room from 11am-1pm and maybe even win some prizes too. Not to be missed!


 

Dell Technologies, Career Opportunities (Tues Feb 2nd / 11am-12pm)

Peer Assisted Learning (PAL Sessions) 4-6pm

What are PAL Workshops? - Join here during the time!

This is a student to student support network, led by senior students who have gone through similar programmes and look to provide advice and support to other students throughout DBS.

6-8pm: Creating a High-Performing Team: Student Leadership Workshop

The Student Leadership Programme continues with an exciting workshop on 'Creating a High-Performing Team. Throughout this workshop we will:

  1. Explore the advanced concepts on how to create a High Performing Team

  2. Understand the common characteristics of a High Performing Team

  3. Gain an understanding of the High Performance Team Model

Our Weekly GAMES NIGHT (hosted by the funniest guys from your Students’ Union) IS BACK by popular demand. DBS RE-FRESHERS PARTY NIGHT - BINGO LOCO / Live from 7pm
The flagship event for our Re-Freshers Week welcomes back the legendary BINGO LOCO to DBS. This event is stacked with laugh, cheesey tunes and absolute CHAOS! The Library Team provides a number of high quality, online learner supports to the students of DBS each week. These workshops are free and invaluable to students who want to maximise their learning. Online classes include Harvard referencing, preparing for online exams, mastering your assignments, and getting practical support on your research methodology.
