Our Re-Orientation Week is here and is a hugely important period in our academic calendar, as we welcome many new students to our college. Our staff are working hard during this time to introduce students to everything about DBS. In particular, we hope that our new and existing students too, become more familiarized with the wide range of supports, services and benefits that you as students can avail of.  Similarly, this week is a chance for everyone at DBS to embrace what our culture is all about, reflect on the road ahead and build themselves a robust plan to fulfill the potential of their college experience. We hope that you find this week enjoyable and that you use the time to engage with the college, while making some new friends too.

IGTV LIVE “GET TO KNOW YOUR PEER MENTORS” Hosted by Michaela / 1pm

The Peer Mentors at DBS are experienced leaders, who study similar programmes to you and provide an important source of information to new students during their orientation period to DBS. As well as arranging informal meetings and social events our mentors will be available to assist you with any queries or concerns that you may have. 7-8:30pm: Student Leadership Programme - Session 2: Creating your 2021 Vision Board

Following on from the success of our goal setting session workshop, we are providing a creative and explorative Vision Board session to the students of DBS. This is a great opportunity to get yourself on track for 2021 and meet some great people too.

Peer Mentors Social Evening - New Undergrad Students / 4-6pm - Sign up here!

The Peer Mentor Team are your first line of support during your time at DBS and have an evening of fun challenges and fun ice-breakers that will help you settle back to college life. The event will be live between 4-6pm and all postgrad students are encouraged to come along to meet other students.

Our Weekly GAMES NIGHT (hosted by the funniest guys from your Students’ Union) IS BACK by popular demand. Each week our community get together and take part in such fun games as Among Us, Scribblio, Texas Poker and Uno to name a few. This week will be a surprise! How competitive are you? This is a student to student support network, led by senior students who have gone through similar programmes and look to provide advice and support to other students throughout DBS.

Who doesn’t love music? What’s one genre of music you don’t like? Come to our Listening Party to share your favorite tunes and maybe discover some new artists that you might not have heard of before! Your song suggestions will be added to our playlist for future Jam sessions too!

SU Jamboard Networking Night / from 7:30pm

You may be asking yourself what the heck is a Jamboard? Jamboard is an online interactive whiteboard designed for image based collaborative presentations (and can be great craic when the SU take charge!). Join the team for an event of quick thinking, problem solving and creativity for silly ideas, and propose it to our panel of guest judges on the night. The Library Team provides a number of high quality, online learner supports to the students of DBS each week. These workshops are free and invaluable to students who want to maximise their learning. Online classes include Harvard referencing, preparing for online exams, mastering your assignments, and getting practical support on your research methodology.
