All three of the lads are doing their Masters - Marketing, Project Management and International Accounting and Finance. They would love basketball to be part of their future career but a career in business or even construction for Diogo would suit just fine.
Our Basketball team had their first game last Friday with an impressive win over DIT. We sat down with the lads to talk basketball, living in Ireland and 'dingus'!
How long have you all been playing basketball?
For as long as they could all remember, 30 odd years for Diogo!
What got you into the sport?
Dad, Michael Jordan videos, Height
Who’s the best player out of the three of you?
Definitely the hardest question to get an answer off the lads, they’re all way too nice and agreed they all have their strengths.
 
Who’s the slowest?
Diogo - on and off the court.
Quickest?
Dillon by default - makes up for his miniature stature compared to the giants beside him.
In there free time the guys like to go to the gym, play more basketball and cook (soup is Dillon’s speciality) /Why soup?
As you can see from the photos Dillon lost a fight with an accidental elbow last Friday, he even had to get stitches - ouch, no solid foods for a while for him.
Despite their enjoyment of cooking - we wouldn’t advise visiting the guys for dinner any time soon!
We asked the guys about their home
Dillon and Nate definitely prefers Donegal and Australia compared to the city centre, however Diogo prefers Australia than his hometown Brazil.
The guys knowledge of night life in Dublin has left much to be desired for with none of them having the joy of spending a night in Coppers! Diogo had some coppers in his pocket - about as far as his knowledge extended of Harcourt streets busiest most famous spot. Nate tried to rob Diogo’s coppers to spend in his favourite spot - Diceys!
And about superstitions..
The three of them are convinced their house is haunted, Nate is 100% sure he has heard the phone ring on a number of occasions - they don’t have a phone line….(another reason not to visit their house) Nate also puts his socks on before a game whatever way he gets them, inside out upside down, so let keep an eye out on that in their next game!

- Anne vs Daniel - 2-1 Anne (really bad shout there, must have felt sorry for Anne)
The interview with the lads have been a pleasure and they are enjoying DBS so far. Let’s hope they continue their success for the rest of the year. However they will have to do it on their own after they voted 2-1 against the best SU sports officer DBS has ever seen..
