No Foreign Travel Advised Over the Christmas Period

by Shane Mooney | Nov 17, 2020

The Irish Government advises against students travelling abroad over the Christmas period.  If you intend to travel during this period you must do so for emergency reasons only and must:

  • Advise DBS of your intention to travel and the reason for your trip.
  • Not use public transport for 14 days upon your return.
  • Adhere to COVID-19 Irish Government protocols when returning to the state.

Currently these protocols, if travelling from a non-green listed country, include self-isolation upon return, the completion of a daily Health Questionnaire to DBS for 14 days before returning to the country, and a further 14 days after returning to the state, and to live in accommodation where you can self-isolate for 14 days upon return.

Alternatively the whole household is required to self-isolate for 14 days upon your return from abroad.
