Mandatory Hotel Quarantine for People arriving from high risk countries-Updated 17th May 2021

India is among five countries that have been added to the list of designated states from which passengers arriving into Ireland must enter Mandatory Hotel Quarantine. From 4am on Tuesday 4 May, passengers coming from or having transited through Costa Rica, Georgia, India, Iran and Mongolia must enter quarantine at a designated hotel.

 

From Friday 26th March 14 days mandatory hotel quarantine is required for passengers who have been countries that are on the Government’s Category 2 list of “high risk” countries. including those who have transited through a port or airport in a designated country, even if they stay airside or portside, in the 14 days prior to their arrival in Ireland.

The countries are (it is expected that this list will be extended in the future):

Andorra, Angola, Argentina,  Bahrain, Bangladesh,  Belgium, Bermuda, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Burundi, Canada, Cape Verde, Chile, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Costa Rica,  Ecuador, Eswatini, Ethiopia, France, French Guiana, Georgia, Guyana, India, Iran,  Kenya, Kuwait, Lesotho, Luxembourg, Malawi, Maldives, Montenegro, Mongolia, Mozambique, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria,  Oman, Palestine, Pakistan, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, The Philippines, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Rwanda, Serbia, Seychelles, Somalia, South Africa, Suriname, Tanzania, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United States of America, Uruguay, Venezuela, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The Quarantine Hotels Ireland booking site is now live; a two-week stay will cost €1,875 for the first person, €625 for a second person over the age of 12 who shares the room. 

UPDATE: Friday 9th April- The following countries have been added to the list effective 14th April: Bangladesh, Belgium, France, Italy, Kenya, Luxembourg, Pakistan, Turkey, the USA, Canada, Armenia, Bermuda, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Curaçao, Maldives, Ukraine.

Update: Friday 30th April-  The following countries have been added to the list effective 4th May:  Costa Rica, Georgia, India, Iran and Mongolia
