Success for the men’s football team vs Trinity College Dublin

Another exciting afternoon for the men’s football team at the iconic College Green Park in Trinity College Dublin, which saw DBS winners in a thrilling 3-2 victory. DBS got off to a great start with some nice combinations in the middle of the park. A great shot from Cian Byrne from distance, struck the upright and fell into the path of Nicolas who finished from close range.

TCD began to gain momentum as the game went on, but a number of important saves from our goalkeeper Marvin, kept DBS ahead at the break.

The second half saw DBS pinned back for most of the game as Trinity continued to attack. Our man of the match Marvin was called into action a number of times from close range. DBS could have had 2 penalties in the second half after Cian Bryne was taken down twice inside the area. Club captain Nathan went close with a 1v1 on the TCD keeper, but a quick fire save saw his shot parried wide resulting in a corner. Our German machine Andres stepped up for the corner with a very brave header to put DBS 2-0 with 30 minutes to go.

TCD continued to gain momentum once again despite some solid defensive displays from Ryan O'Callaghan, Seth and Ruben at the back. TCD eventually scored on a quick counter attack and added another goal soon after, tying the game at 2-2. But with just 5 minutes left, Andres courageously got his head behind another big corner to score a very similar header from inside the box, sealing a great victory for DBS.
