Mental Health Week

The Importance of looking after your mental health

With mental health week coming up, we have loads of fun activities to get involved in, lots of free events and some useful hints and tricks on how to improve your mental health by following a few easy steps. Please visit the Student Services Hub on the 4th Floor Castle House to get involved!

Although the week will be filled with light-hearted fun, it is important to remember that mental health issues are not fun and games.

With mental health problems being prevalent in young people’s lives today, it is important that we are encouraging those that are struggling to speak out about how they are feeling. If you are concerned about a friend, a family member or a classmate, ask them if they are okay. If their answer is no… there are plenty of supports available to them (see a full list on the welfare section of our website).

There are many colleges supports available to our students also including; counseling sessions, workshops, focus groups and exam support for issues such as anxiety. If you wish to speak to someone in the college about any mental health issues you may have, please contact the student services welfare officer Maria Hunt by email: [email protected]
