Donations & Support for Ukraine

by Adam Crowther | Mar 06, 2022

Dear students,

We recognise that this is a time of great distress and concern for those who have connections with Ukraine, Russia and affected countries in Eastern Europe. DBS is working to ensure that all students, staff and other members of our college community who are impacted by the crisis are supported during this time. In supporting and encouraging the global efforts to provide assistance, we join with the other Irish Universities and Higher Education Institutions and our European partners in exploring ways in which DBS can provide on-going support, both now and into the future, to those impacted by the conflict.

Firstly, we would like to remind our students of the support available to them:

Private Counseling Services are available to all students.

Student Services Support: Available daily between (9-5pm Irish Time)

For queries on all of the above please email - [email protected]

In addition we want to support the people of Ukraine in a practical way in this time of crisis.  We have made some arrangements with the help of our CSR team for a Humanitarian Collection, for those who want to donate some personal items. Alternatively and perhaps more importantly we will encourage staff and students to provide a donation to the Irish Red Cross Appeal. More information available below.

Supporting the Irish Red Cross Appeal - Donate whatever you can here.

The Red Cross teams are on the ground now in Ukraine and will continue their work to support health facilities, help families with life-saving food and hygiene items, and repair vital infrastructure when they can.  Your donation will help those affected get food, medicine, shelter and water.  Your support will also help the Red Cross to assist those displaced by conflict.   Separately we are arranging for DBS to make a donation to the Irish Red Cross.

DBS Humanitarian Collection for Ukraine

We are arranging a collection for warm clothes, non-perishable goods and other hygiene items, which will be couriered from DBS to one of the bordering countries. We will be following the available advice before sending. See the below list for a full breakdown of items that are in demand. The drop-off location is the Student Experience Hub (Castle House, 4th floor).
