DBS Law Society visits the Four Courts

by Adam Crowther | Mar 21, 2023

Last week the Law Society at DBS enjoyed a fun day out, where our students got the opportunity to learn all about the history of the justice department during their private tour of the Four Courts and the Supreme Courts.

The group heard about the history of the complex legal system across Ireland, from CMU's John Whelan, before they got an opportunity to ask Ms Justice Marie Baker of the Supreme Court their questions.

Ms Justice Baker discussed her career at length with our group and the challenges she faced in dealing with complex trials. She also shared her highlights from working across the different legal functions and what her advice would be for anyone looking to step into the legal profession.

A special mention to the Law Society for their work in setting up such a great day out for everyone to enjoy. The next stop is the Criminal Courts of Justice, which is the principal courts building for the criminal courts, located beside Parkgate Street, near the Phoenix Park.
