Update 1st December 2021

Invites have now been issued to all eligible students for our 2021 graduation, which will be held in March 2022. Please check your personal email address for more details and to purchase your ticket via Eventbrite.
For those who have friends or family visiting from overseas and need visa letters, please click here.

Update 27th October 2021

For those querying the logistics of the Graduation ceremonies, please note the following:
We are working on the following assumptions:

We assume the venue will operate at 100% capacity.
We assume Covid vaccination confirmation (or similar) will be required for all attendees.

This will allow for 2 guests per graduate.

For those who need their parchment in advance of March 2022, we will arrange this over the coming weeks once we have possession of the parchments from QQI.

Update 22nd September 2021

The graduation for students who graduated over the past year will be held on the 24th or 25th March 2022 in the RDS Concert Hall, Dublin 4.
Details of which programmes are on which date will be released early next year.
Invitations to the ceremony will be sent out over the coming months.
We look forward to holding an in person event in March 2022, and hope as many of you can join us as possible.

Update 13th August 2021

University life has been severely disrupted by the pandemic and DBS has not been able to have physical graduations since 2019. It is with a heavy heart that we now again have to take the decision to defer this year's conferring ceremony until early 2022.

As of today, we do not have guidance on the holding of indoor events from the Government (as they are not permitted at this time). It is therefore not feasible to organise the event with a suitable lead in time for preparation without clarity and clear guidance on indoor events.

DBS recognise the importance of the Graduation ceremony for you and your families and it is also the highlight of our Academic Year. We are not taking this decision lightly.

We are opting not to hold a virtual ceremony at this stage but rather to wait until clear guidance is issued that will allow us to host you and your family at a physical Graduation ceremony when we can celebrate your achievements in person.

We hope this to be in February or March of 2022, if a suitable venue can be sourced. We will provide updates over the coming weeks and months.

For those looking to get their parchment before 2022, we will send out a communication to arrange this late in September.

Update 16th July 2021

We are still awaiting guidance on the allowed number of attendees at indoor events, as are all event operators. As such, we are unable to proceed with our planning and invitations at this stage.
Under normal circumstances, we would now be inviting Graduates to the ceremony and our planning would be in full swing. We are hoping to receive clear guidance over the next few weeks and will make a firmer decision on whether to defer the ceremony or hold a virtual ceremony by the 13th August.

More information as we receive it!

Update 1st July 2021

As of today, there is no guidance from Government regarding the holding of large indoor events, such as Graduation. We still hope to have a physical graduation and will continue to work towards that.

DBS normally sends out invites to graduating students in late July, however, we won't do that this year, until we have confirmation as to whether the event can proceed, and what format or capacities might be imposed due to health guidelines.

Parchments for Graduating students are not with us from the awarding body, QQI, as yet. When they are, we will contact students to arrange collection, postage, or wait for the ceremony, if that's an option. We expect to have receipt of parchments in September.

More information as we receive it!
