INTRODUCTION TO Parchment (Formerly DIGITARY CORE)

From the summer of 2024, DBS official transcripts will be issued directly through Parchment (formerly Digitary CORE), a trusted international verified digital credential platform*. Parchment ensures document authenticity. When transcripts, credentials, and any other documents are issued through Parchment, they are verifiable, secure, and include a cryptographic signature.

Parchment documents are both legally valid and tamper evident. The platform utilises advanced  cryptographic hardware and banking-level security to produce and certify digital records, compliant international legal and privacy standards. Parchment utilises advanced electronic signatures which are compliant with EU Digital Signatures Directive 1999/93/EC and national enacting legislation.

Parchment allows you to be in complete control over your certified credential documents. Your documents can only be accessed by people you authorise. The simple online interface enables you to share your documents with as many or as few people as you like for as long as you like. You can control and regulate access, whilst being able to see who is viewing the documents you are sharing.

TRANSCRIPTS FOR CURRENT STUDENTS

Do NOT try to set up your account before receiving the email from Parchment. If you are a current student in DBS your transcript will be available through Parchment. There is no action required on your part. You will receive an email from Parchment with your transcript where you can securely access it.

FOR RECRUITERS/EMPLOYERS

How can I check a person’s academic documents using Parchment?

To verify a learner’s Parchment-enabled documents, the Learner needs to share them with you. The simplest way to do this is to ask the Learner to generate a ‘URL share’ – this is a unique URL that starts with “https://core.digitary.net” and points to the trusted Parchment portal. The URL can be emailed directly to you from the Parchment portal, or the learner can send it to you directly. Always make sure that the URL starts with “https://core.digitary.net”, or, for institutions still using Parchments’s older platform, starts with the URL of the issuing institution.
