16th March 19:00 Summer Exams Update

by Shane Mooney | Mar 16, 2020

The spread of the coronavirus has changed the way in which DBS does its work.   Classroom teaching has now been fully moved online as have all the services provided to students.

It is now being confirmed that all exams in the current semester are being run online and will replace the exams scheduled for exam halls.   This applies to exams taking place during the remainder of March and the beginning of April as well as for the summer exam period which is mid-April to mid-May.

Each of the classes having an exam in March will receive a separate communication before that exam is scheduled.  Students with exams starting in mid-April will receive more specific details early next week.

This clarity around exams will allow international students to plan whether to stay in Ireland or return home.   International students whose taught modules are coming to an end may now choose to return home in the knowledge that they can complete their exams online.

For clarity, international students who started in January 2020 whose course continues after the April/May exam period are advised to remain in Ireland to continue their studies, because once the coronavirus has passed teaching will return to the classroom.

DBS continues to operate fully and all services and supports of the College are available online. The DBS buildings have been closed but the College remains open online.
