Meet Caoimhe Banahan your VP for Education

by Adam Crowther | Jun 25, 2021

Hello!

I am Caoimhe, your VP for Education. Firstly, I want to congratulate all those who have received their exam results this week and a special well done to those who will now graduate based on their results. Although the circumstances for our exams have been quite different the past two years, we should all be proud of how resilient we have all proven to be considering this. I am super excited to be able to represent the wider college community this year and as your VP for Education I am motivated to get to work and collaborate with the college around key learning topics.

As a first generation third level student, I feel privileged to have this opportunity to be able to improve our learning experience and to be the voice for our student body. I aim to listen and engage with our students on a regular basis and to highlight your queries and feedback throughout the year. As a final year student, myself I hope to build deeper links with our Careers Hub and ensure there is more awareness around our Careers Workshops and Support Services, especially for us students who are in their final years.

Similarly, I want to have important topics such as consent and student wellbeing more prevalent across the college campus too. We want to drive a college environment where every student can feel safe & supported, always. Our team will be working hard behind the scenes to enhance our learning experience at DBS and to continue in making positive changes across the college.

The Education Team and I are super excited to be able to get back to our campus in September and look forward to settling back into our new normal.

See you soon.
