Great night at Hubspot yesterday, I know the students really enjoyed hearing the panel discussion on starting their careers in sales and how they have progressed into Management, Specialist and Account Management roles.

The panel consisted of ambitious, driven and motivated individuals who shared unique stories of career progression, overcoming failures, lessons that helped shape their careers, the advice they received at the beginning of their careers that they still try and follow now and interview tips. 

Career Advice from Hubspot, DocuSign and Pluralsight:

- Define your development areas and start to work on them, approach your manager with a plan        for your career.

- Speak to those in roles you wish to progress into, they will be able to tell you about the role and its    challenges.

- Understand where you are, where you need to go and what you need to do.

- Don’t fixate if it doesn’t work the first time, take a step back and re-evaluate.

- Start to network and attend events to learn about how other individuals approach the same              challenges in Sales, BDR, EA etc.
