Graduate Visa

Students can only apply for their 1G visa when they have successfully completed their course and have received full academic results.

Stamp 1G is granted for 12 months only, except for those who have completed a masters degree programme, when a further 12 months can be provided subject to conditions.

Stamp 1G holders are permitted to work full time but are not permitted to operate a business or be self employed.

When Applying for a 1G Visa Students must: 

  1. Reside in Ireland and provide proof of address

  2. Have a valid IRP Card 

  3. Hold a level 8 or 9 degree

  4. Apply within 6 months of being notified of the award 

  5. Not have exceeded the 7 year limit as a non-EEA student 

Documents required:

  1. Passport 

  2. Current IRP card

  3. DBS Graduate Letter

  4. Medical Insurance 

  1. €300 to pay by debit/credit cards

How to Apply: 

Students that live in County Dublin, Kildare, Meath, Wicklow, Cork and Limerick must apply through the application portal. All other students must apply at their local Garda station. Processing times are approximately 4-8 weeks

1. Select Applications for Permission to Remain in the State

2. Select Registration Renewal and complete the form

3. In the section Immigration Permission select Stamp 1G or 1A 

4. Complete the application and submit uploading all supporting documents and pay the fee
