The national staff and student sexual violence/harassment survey launched

by Adam Crowther | Apr 16, 2021

Dear student,

The Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science, Simon Harris, T.D., has requested a national survey of student experiences of sexual violence and sexual harassment. This survey is being run by the Higher Education Authority (HEA), the agency that funds Irish higher education institutions. We would like you to help make a difference and have your voice heard by filling out the survey.

The survey will run from 12th April to 30th April 2021 and the results will help inform our planning processes.

Why should you participate?

  • It will help make campuses across Ireland safer places for everyone

  • We need to take action to end sexual violence and harassment now

  • Your voice will be heard by those making national policy and funding decisions

By taking part in this survey you are helping the HEA to understand your experience and to get an overall picture of what is happening throughout the campuses across Ireland. Sexual violence and harassment is an issue that affects us all – be part of the bigger picture and make an impact.

Your voice matters and this survey can help us to make a change.

The survey can be accessed using the following link:

Participation in the survey is voluntary and anonymous - no personally identifying information is requested.  Please Note: Trigger warnings are included at the start of sections on sensitive topics, and you will be given the option to skip questions if you do not feel comfortable answering them.

If you have been affected by sexual harassment and/or sexual violence and need some support, please see here for information about the Supports Services at DBS and the External Supports Services available too.
