Dear Student,
With final exam results scheduled to begin releasing this Friday, we expect a very high volume of student queries. To ensure you experience zero delays and complete peace of mind, we have fully automated the documentation process for both Student Visa Extensions (Stamp 2) and Graduate Visas (Stamp 1G).
You no longer need to request a specific "Visa Extension Letter," and you do not need to log a support ticket on the helpdesk. The required documents are now available instantly and electronically, removing manual processing delays so you can meet your immigration deadlines seamlessly.
Please review the two automated processes below to find the documentation you need.
Path A: You need to EXTEND your Stamp 2 Student Visa
Use this path if you need to extend your stay to repeat a module, defer an assessment, or complete any remaining duration of your allocated study programme.
Instead of waiting for a manual letter, you will submit two automated documents that together satisfy all of the Irish Immigration Service (ISD) criteria:
-
Official Transcript (Via Digitary): This will be sent automatically to your email via the secure Digitary platform up to 2 weeks after the release of these results. This serves as your legal, official proof of the module(s) you need to repeat or complete.
-
Amended General Reference Letter (Via Student Portal): Log into the Student Self-Service Portal to instantly download your updated General Reference Letter. This standardized master letter officially confirms your active student status, includes your registered address, and details the confirmed Exam Board dates across the entire calendar year. IMPORTANT - This indicates all end periods throughout our calendar year. Separate letters including programme end dates cannot be produced. Ticket requests for this will be closed automatically.
Action Required: Create your account on the Digitary platform using the email link you receive to download your transcripts. Download your General Reference Letter from the portal, and submit both documents directly to ISD.
Path B: You are applying for the 1G Graduate Visa
Use this path if you have completed your programme and are moving onto the Third Level Graduate Programme.
You do not need to request a graduation letter from the school. Your documents are entirely automated:
-
1G Graduate Letter & Final Transcripts: Both of these essential documents will arrive together in your personal email via the Digitary platform within 2 weeks after the release of these results.
Action Required: Log into Digitary, register your account using your student outlook email, and download your secure files. You can upload these digital documents directly to the online ISD portal to process your change of status. IMPORTANT - if you fail to register your account and secure your files within a certain period, you will lose access to these documents.
Crucial Reminder
Please do not log a ticket asking for visa or extension letters. Your ticket will be closed automatically. The helpdesk options have been removed because these documents are now fully self-service and automated. Sending duplicate queries will only delay general response times for the student community.
Best of luck with your upcoming results this Friday!
Kind regards,
Dublin Business School
