Meet the SU Leadership Team 2024

We are pleased to introduce our fantastic Students’ Union Team for the upcoming year. The team will be led by President Katie Brady and our four Vice Presidents; Dash Dugal, Hannah Welthagen, Nathan Bell and Sophie McGuinness.

Katie Brady - President

Katie is a final year Law student in DBS. Following on from a fantastic year as VP for Education, we are looking forward to seeing Katie in action as President. Throughout the year, Katie will lead monthly student council meetings, be a student representative at college boards and ensure that students are getting a well-rounded college experience across our 4 streams of Student Life, Wellbeing & Inclusion, Education and Campus Engagement. We are sure Katie will be a brilliant advocate for the student voice and wish her all the best.

Dash Dugal - VP for Student Life

Dash is a final year Business student who began the SU as a Student Life Officer, became VP for Wellbeing & Inclusion last year and is now excited to begin as your VP for Student Life. Dash and his team will organise many fantastic events throughout the year from clubs and societies sign-up day to pub crawls and bowling, keep an eye out for all of the exciting events to come! We are sure that Dash and his team will create another fun-filled year for our campus and wish them the best of luck.

Hannah Welthagen - VP for Education

Hannah is a final year Law student who was a support member of the Education Team last year and has risen through the ranks to become VP this year. Hannah and her team will be a part of many college committees throughout the year including the Learning and Teaching Committee, Academic Board, Board of Studies and many more. We are certain that Hannah and the Education Team will be great representatives of the student body and be at the forefront of progressing the academic programmes in DBS, good luck!

Nathan Bell - VP Campus and Student Engagement

Nathan is a final year Business student who has been involved in the Students’ Union for a number of years, including two amazing years as VP for Student Life. This year, we look forward to seeing him thrive in a brand new role as VP for Campus & Student Engagement. Nathan and his team will provide a strong presence around the campus and be a friendly face for students to approach as they are encouraged to engage with the college community. We are certain that along with his team, Nathan will have a great year and wish them luck!

Sophie McGuinness - VP for Wellbeing and Inclusion

Sophie is a final year Psychology student who joined the team last year as support for Student Life before being promoted to Student Life Officer. This year, she will lead the Wellbeing & Inclusion team as VP. During the year, Sophie and her team will be responsible for all things well being (Physical, sexual and mental) and will promote many fantastic initiatives. As well as this, the team will ensure there is strong cultural representation across campus. Best of luck to Sophie and her team!
